On love and marriage - The groomsmen would carry the bride in an enclosed carriage decorated with red and golden silk. They would sing and play music as well as carrying flags and lamps announcing the newly wed's prosperous event to the villagers. Upon reaching the groom's house, the bride would be received with fire crackers to ward off bad omens. The groom would open the bride's carriage and carry the bride in his arms then step over a pot of fire set in front of the doorstep as a symbol of purification of their union. The bride is then led to the family living room where she will remain all day in her wedding dress and not allowed to leave the room until night fall.
