It can be easy to dismiss a health niggle or put off an appointment to get yourself checked.

Broome artist Jacky Cheng thought a warning from an eye doctor would not come to pass and delayed getting treatment - until it was almost too late.

It's given her a fresh perspective on how and what she creates, and the preciousness of sight.

She's put herself into the public eye for the Broome Fringe Festival with a week long performance art piece called Beyond Sight.
