About the artist:
Bennett Miller (b 1980) works across sculpture, installation, video and performance. In more recent years Miller's work has moved out of the gallery and into the public realm, through a series of live art performances for festivals and outdoor contexts. Between 2010 and 2012 Miller's popular Dachshund UN project was presented in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth (AUS), Birmingham (UK), Toronto and Montreal (CAN). In 2012 Miller was included in New12 at ACCA, Melbourne and was a resident at Australia Council's Greene St Studio in New York. From 2013-2017 Miller then presented five consecutive iterations of his fake Amish community BARNRAISER at Splendour in the Grass Festival in Northern NSW.

About the community partner:
Mitchell House (formerly Plantagenet Regional Art Council) is a community arts organisation including active pottery group, with access to kilns, painting and drawing group, quilting and embroidery. They run the Plantagenet Art Prize and participate in various regional exhibitions.
