Art Comes Home for Golden Jubilee

Screen Shot 2020-06-06 at 4.15.31 pm

Update: Due to unplanned circumstances from COVID-19 situation, we bid farewell to HOME.

This is exciting! Four Broome artist from different practicing background and an international artist/ architect will all join forces in a collaborative public art piece. Project led by landscape architect Vanessa Margetts from Mud Map Studios. All artists will be conducting community art workshops during the week long celebration......well, all I can say is, STAY TUNED!

"To celebrate Shinju Matsuri’s Golden Jubilee in 2020, local artists Jacky Cheng, Jody Loaring, Michael Torres and Tomoko Yamada will join forces with international artist, Lisa Foo, to create a large-scale installation at the newly redeveloped Town Beach that explores the theme of ‘Home’. Just what that installation piece will resemble is still to be determined and is something the group will be giving much thought to during this year’s festival. The group will be inviting the community to participate in artistic workshops and help them brainstorm concepts for 2020."
