Artist in residence group exhibition 2024

My time at ATW residency concluded with solid practice on kami-ito (paper thread) and more crucially, a new skill-based training on how to dress and gently work with a four-shaft loom. Somewhat blown away by this contraption and very satisfied with the twill design on the shifu (paper cloth). Drawing from inspirational combinations such textile genious like Issey Miyake and origami master Kōryō Miura, this was the result of an experimental perseverance - Folded woven paper cloth. The shape resemble a calabash/ gourd - a symbol of good health.
