'Where Conversations Gather' | 2026 Invitation Art Prize
Where Conversations Gather
Joondalup Contemporary Art Gallery | Until 12 December 2026
I'm delighted to be presenting Where Conversations Gather as one of ten shortlisted artists in the City of Joondalup's 2026 Invitation Art Prize.
Constructed from upcycled Chinese calendars, the sculptural installation brings together hand-formed vessels referencing different cultural traditions. The work considers gathering as an act of cultural care, exploring how shared rituals, memory and everyday encounters can create space for listening, exchange and belonging.
It is a pleasure to exhibit alongside David Attwood, Amanda Bell, David Brazier, Christophe Canato, Brett Leigh Dicks, Louise Malarvie, Amy Perejuan-Capone, Ash Tower and Ben Galmirr Ward.
Warm congratulations to Amy Perejuan-Capone, recipient of the 2026 Acquisitive Prize for her extraordinary work Vdes II, a deeply moving reflection on life, loss and our relationship with the natural world.
My sincere thanks to the City of Joondalup, curator Tim Carter and the entire gallery team for their thoughtful presentation and care in bringing this exhibition together.
